▶ General News: The Presidential Debate – what does it mean to YOU? Are you being true to yourself? CNN’s John Berman confirmed Tuesday that Hillary Clinton once referred to the Trans-Pacific Partnership as the “gold standard” of trade deals. FBI data exclusively obtained by Breitbart Texas reveal that 7,712 terrorist encounters occurred within the United States in one year and that many of those encounters occurred near the U.S.-Mexico border. FBI’s 2015 Uniform Crime Report shows approximately twice as many people were killed with hands and fists in 2015 than were killed with rifles of any kind.
▶ Economics: Stocks are ripe to experience a significant correction according to Forbes. Global debt issuance is on course to hit a record high in 2016 – on course to beat the all-time high of $6.6 trillion recorded in 2006.
▶ Global Issues: US defense officials now believe that Russian planes dropped the bombs that destroyed a UN aid convoy and killed at least 20 people. Russia is completing the construction of a large military base about 100 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. Russia’s newest nuclear submarine has been sent on permanent deployment in the Pacific. Nato fighter aircraft were scrambled seven times to intercept Russian military aircraft between September 19 and 25. Russia, China spend big on warplanes, spurring aerial arms race. A senior Japanese official made it clear that Tokyo is determined to defend its territory against aggression from China. The United States said it had sanctioned a Chinese industrial machinery and equipment wholesaler for helping North Korea.
▶ Health: Robert Lanciotti was demoted in May after he raised concerns inside and outside of the CDC about the CDC’s decision in the spring to recommend a new test for Zika that is 40% less effective.
